Common questions about UK immigration eligibility

How do I know which UK visa I need?

The correct visa route depends on your purpose for coming to the UK, your nationality, your family connections to UK residents, and your employment situation. The main categories are work visas requiring employer sponsorship, family visas for joining a British or settled partner or parent, study visas, and routes without sponsorship such as the Ancestry visa and Youth Mobility visa. Work through the eligibility assessment above or select your route from the guides below to identify the most likely pathway for your circumstances.

Can I check my UK visa eligibility before instructing a specialist?

Yes. The eligibility assessment on this page covers the core requirements for each major UK immigration route, salary thresholds, qualifying relationships, nationality requirements, English language standards, and the key disqualifying factors under Part Suitability. It is designed to give you a well-informed starting point before you decide whether to instruct Noble Rose to prepare and submit your application.

Which UK visa routes does Noble Rose advise on?

Noble Rose is IAA regulated at Level 1 and advises on and prepares applications across the principal UK immigration routes, Skilled Worker, spouse and partner visas, student visas, the Graduate visa, UK Ancestry, Standard Visitor, Indefinite Leave to Remain, British citizenship naturalisation and registration, the Youth Mobility Scheme, Global Business Mobility, and the parent route. Noble Rose does not advise on immigration appeals or human rights applications.

What is IAA Level 1 regulation and why does it matter?

The Immigration Advice Authority is the statutory body that regulates immigration advisers who are not solicitors or barristers. Level 1 is the highest level of IAA regulation and authorises the preparation and submission of immigration applications and management of Home Office casework correspondence. IAA regulation means Noble Rose is legally authorised to provide immigration services and is subject to the IAA's Code of Standards providing the same regulatory protection as instructing a solicitor for immigration matters within the IAA's scope. Noble Rose holds IAA Registration Number F202535916.

How long does a UK immigration application take?

Processing times vary significantly by route. Standard Visitor visas are typically decided within 3 weeks. Skilled Worker and family visas are typically decided within 8 weeks on the standard service. ILR applications take up to 6 months on the standard service. British citizenship naturalisation takes approximately 6 months. Priority and Super Priority services are available for certain routes at additional cost, priority typically guarantees a decision within 5 working days and Super Priority within 1 working day where available.

What happens after I complete the eligibility assessment?

The assessment identifies which immigration route is most likely to apply to your circumstances based on your answers. It is a starting point, not a legal determination. Once you have your result, you can read the detailed eligibility guide for your route, or contact Noble Rose directly to discuss your specific situation. Noble Rose will review your circumstances, advise on realistic prospects, and if you decide to proceed, manage the full application process on your behalf including document preparation, drafting representations, and Home Office correspondence.
